MCS Group is delighted to be working in partnership with Belfast City Airport on an exciting new opportunity for a Programme and Design Project Manager to join their Development Team and play a key role in supporting a significant strategic investment programme. Belfast City Airport is ideally located in the heart of Belfast, just five minutes from the city centre. Handling approximately 2.5 million passengers annually, the airport has ambitious plans to exceed 7 million passengers by 2040, placing passengers, community and people at the heart of every journey. The Programme and Design Project Manager will provide project management, coordination and governance support across the airport's programme and design activities. Reporting to the Head of Programme and Design and working closely with the Chief Development Officer, the role will act as a key interface between the airport and its multi-disciplinary consultant team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of programme and design activities across a significant strategic investment programme
  • Manage the interface between the airport and multi-disciplinary consultant teams, including coordinating project meetings and actions
  • Maintain and update the integrated project programme, tracking deliverables, milestones and progress
  • Prepare weekly, management and Board-level reports and presentations
  • Support cost management, consultant invoicing and budgetary processes
  • Maintain project documentation, governance records and document control systems
  • Manage and report against project risks, dependencies, scope changes and requests for information
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholder meetings, decisions and actions
  • Support wider business projects and contribute to the continual improvement of project management processes
  • Contribute to the airport's ESG, sustainability and corporate responsibility objectives

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project professional to join a high-profile Development Team and play a central role in coordinating a major programme of investment, with exposure to senior management, Board-level reporting and multi-disciplinary consultants.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum three years' experience in a similar project management, project coordination, consultancy or on-site role
  • Third-level qualification, or equivalent experience, in project management, construction, engineering, design, business administration or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of programme and design management, ideally including consultant management
  • Experience managing project programmes, deliverables, risks, governance and stakeholder expectations
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with project management software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with financial reporting, cost control and management reporting
  • Relevant project management qualification is desirable
  • NEC4 and/or P6 experience would be advantageous
  • Experience within aviation, infrastructure, construction or capital projects would be advantageous
  • Full, in-depth security checks will be required for the successful candidate
