MCS Group has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join a dynamic, award-winning company with a proven reputation of delivering high-quality solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to play a key role within an innovative team.
The Role
We are working alongside a leading civils company to recruit a Senior Estimator to join their team. In this role you will play a key part in the Estimating team, preparing and managing detailed cost estimates for projects across a wide range of sectors including transport infrastructure, renewable energy, and utilities. You will:
- Research and analyse material, equipment and labour costs, including identifying value engineering opportunities.
- Prepare and issue subcontractor/supplier enquiry packages, gather quotations, and evaluate them for competitiveness and compliance.
- Support programme preparation, project planning and risk assessment while building accurate rates and prices from first principles and supplier inputs.
- Attend relevant meetings and site visits, ensuring a strong understanding of project requirements.
- Prepare and present tender submissions to deadlines, using estimating software and working closely with the Head of Estimating.

The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience working as an Estimator/Quantity Surveyor in the construction/engineering industry, particularly pricing civil works.
- Relevant Degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of cost management, estimating, and contract administration.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong communication.
