MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting for a Temporary Treasury Finance Assistant on behalf of a leading organisation based in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy Treasury function and play a key role in supporting treasury management activities, cash management processes, financial controls, reconciliations, payment processing, and financial accounting operations.

The Role

Reporting to the Assistant Treasury Accountant, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day activities of the Treasury team, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately, controls are maintained, and treasury operations run efficiently.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and reviewing treasury journals and accounting entries.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes and reconciliations.
  • Processing and authorising a range of payment instructions including BACS, Faster Payments, CHAPS and foreign currency transactions.
  • Maintaining daily bank reconciliations and resolving payment and receipt queries.
  • Monitoring customer payment receipts and investigating discrepancies.
  • Supporting cash management activities and treasury controls.
  • Assisting with supplier bank detail management and fraud prevention processes.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders, banking partners and external service providers.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across treasury processes and systems.

Essential Criteria

Applicants MUST be able to demonstrate in their application form and where necessary at interview:

  • At least two-years' experience of working in a Finance/Accounting environment OR a third level HNC/HND/Degree (or equivalent) Business/Finance related qualification.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.

Desirable Criteria

  • Working knowledge of Oracle Financials.
