The successful candidate will take ownership of the full sales cycle, generating new business opportunities, developing relationships with senior decision-makers, and closing high-value commercial opportunities. Working closely with the leadership team, this role offers genuine autonomy, strong earning potential, and the opportunity to play a key role in driving the company's continued growth.
Roles & Responsibilities- Identify and develop new business opportunities across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences organisations through proactive prospecting and outbound sales activity.
- Generate qualified meetings through a combination of cold outreach, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, conferences, and marketing-generated leads.
- Build and manage a healthy pipeline of opportunities, taking ownership of the sales process from initial engagement through to contract signature.
- Conduct discovery meetings and needs analysis to understand customer challenges and identify suitable commercial solutions.
- Deliver tailored demonstrations and presentations to scientific, technical, and commercial stakeholders.
- Work closely with internal technical and delivery teams to develop bespoke commercial proposals that address customer requirements.
- Negotiate commercial agreements and successfully close new business opportunities.
- Represent the business at industry conferences, networking events, and customer meetings across the UK and internationally where required.
- Previous experience in a quota-carrying Business Development, Sales Executive, Account Executive, or full-cycle sales role.
- Proven ability to generate new business through proactive prospecting while managing opportunities through to successful close.
- Experience selling technical solutions, SaaS, cloud software, technology services, life sciences or professional services within a B2B environment.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and target-driven with the ability to work independently in a high-growth environment.
- Experience selling into the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences sectors.
- Background in bioinformatics, genomics, computational biology, precision medicine, or related scientific disciplines.
- Experience selling complex technical solutions or professional services.
- Knowledge of AI, cloud platforms, data analytics, or life sciences software solutions.
- Competitive base salary of up to £45,000 depending on experience.
- Uncapped commission structure with up to 10% commission on qualifying deals.
