We are a global technology business building interactive displays and digital signage used in schools, universities and workplaces around the world. Our Belfast team owns the platform behind the screens, from the content editor and scheduling tools through to the app that lets a user push content to a display in seconds. It is a small, close-knit team of developers and testers with free on-site parking and none of the layers you would find in a larger organisation.
We are looking for a hands-on manual QA engineer to support hardware validation and application testing across our signage platform. Experience in manual QA and testing is essential, ideally involving both hardware and software, and you should be comfortable testing on Android and Windows-based devices. Beyond that we care most about how you work: strong problem solving, a keen and intuitive eye for finding issues, and the organisation and self-sufficiency to manage your own testing workload without being handed a script. You will communicate clearly, give structured feedback and take the initiative.
What you'll be doing:
- Manually testing our signage platform application prior to production release
- Validating new hardware from vendors, assessing build quality, performance and reliability during signage playback such as video streaming
- Testing primarily on Android devices, with some Windows-based devices
- Performing manual QA on our CMS platform, including the content editor and scheduling and assignment tools
- Logging and clearly communicating bugs and issues to the team
- Working closely with the wider team to drive product quality forward across static and interactive displays, kiosk content and meeting room booking systems
Nice to have:
- Experience using JIRA or a similar issue-tracking tool
- Familiarity with Linux and/or Raspberry Pi devices
- Familiarity with Android debugging tools such as ADB
- Basic scripting or automation experience in Python, Robot Framework, n8n or similar
- A creative streak, with an interest in design, Photoshop or media editing
This role is office based in Belfast, with potential for hybrid longer term.
