Finance & Monitoring Officer .

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional with experience in financial administration, grant monitoring, reporting, and compliance, who enjoys working with multiple stakeholders and ensuring projects are delivered in line with funding requirements.

The Role

  • Support the financial management and monitoring of a portfolio of grant-funded projects, ensuring compliance with funding and audit requirements.
  • Prepare financial claims, forecasts, variance reports, and supporting documentation for funders using online grant management systems.
  • Monitor project budgets, expenditure, and financial performance, working closely with internal teams and delivery partners.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, asset registers, and programme documentation to support governance and audit processes.
  • Assist with procurement administration, compliance checks, and financial verification activities.
  • Collect, analyse, and report programme data to support monitoring, evaluation, and informed decision-making.
  • Build effective relationships with internal colleagues, external partners, and funding bodies, responding to queries and supporting the successful delivery of programme objectives.
  • The Person
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Essential

  • Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Public Sector Financial Management, Business Studies (Finance), or a related discipline.

Applicants without this qualification may be considered if they can demonstrate relevant finance experience.

  • Experience in a financial management role, including budget monitoring, financial reporting, and analysing financial data.
  • Experience using financial systems to track expenditure and produce accurate reports.
  • Knowledge of funding governance, compliance, and financial administration.
