Based at the BSO Headquarters on Franklin Street in Belfast, this is a vital role supporting the Director and Executive Leadership Team in enabling the organisation to deliver on its strategic goals and significant transformation agenda. This isn't a role for someone who wants a standard, predictable routine. This is for an adaptable senior leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to support critical clinical operations, regional collaboration, and continuous service reform across Health and Social Care.
Requirements Qualifications & Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in a senior management role (reporting directly to an Assistant Director, Head of Service, or above), leading in at least 3 core functions such as Customer Service, Service Improvement, Performance Management, Strategic Planning, Risk Management, or Corporate Governance.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience delivering against challenging Performance Management Programmes, meeting key targets, leading organisational change, and managing teams, large scale stakeholders, and financial budgets.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of corporate governance, SLA/contract management, and quality improvement.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for delivering complex briefings and reports to senior stakeholders.
Travel:
A current full driving licence valid for the UK and access to a car upon appointment (waived if a disability prohibits driving but an approved alternative form of transport is available).
Your Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning & Business Development: Leading the co-ordination of BSO's strategic planning processes, managing the annual BSO Business Plan, and implementing corporate wide customer relationship and service improvement strategies.
- Customer Engagement & Service Level Management: Acting as a champion for external customers, negotiating Service Level Agreements (SLAs), creating corporate feedback mechanisms, and managing contract management and demand forecasting.
- Performance Management Framework: Designing and deploying an organisation-wide performance management framework, identifying key performance indicators, and presenting timely, accurate performance data to internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Governance, Risk & Executive Operations: Managing the operational production of the Corporate Risk and Assurance Report and Board Governance Assessments. This includes providing operational management for the Office of the Chair and Chief Executive, complaints management, and sustainability initiatives.
- Senior Directorate Leadership: Serving as an active member of the Directorate's Senior Management Team, leading on policy development, and deputising for the Director at meetings of the BSO Board, Executive Leadership Team, and Department of Health accountability reviews.
Why This Role?
This role offers a unique opportunity to build a rewarding career within a specialised branch of healthcare administration and business support services. You will work within a supportive team environment that champions high standards of personal accountability, professional excellence, and public service confidence.
