A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer to join its Infrastructure team. This is a hands-on senior infrastructure position with a strong focus on Azure infrastructure, cybersecurity and cloud operations. The successful candidate will provide Level 3 infrastructure support, act as a technical escalation point for complex issues and work closely with Infrastructure, Networking, Security and SOC teams to maintain a secure, resilient and high-performing technology environment.

The organisation is looking for a technically strong and mature infrastructure professional who takes ownership, has excellent troubleshooting skills and applies a security-first mindset to infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 3 infrastructure support and act as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
  • Administer and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, identity integration and platform services.
  • Manage and troubleshoot DNS across public and private zones, multiple providers, virtual network links and hybrid/private endpoint scenarios.
  • Manage endpoints through Microsoft Intune, including device enrolment, compliance policies, configuration profiles, application deployment, update management, Endpoint Analytics and Windows Autopilot.
  • Support endpoint security hardening and operational security controls across Windows and mobile platforms.
  • Administer Microsoft Entra ID security controls, including RBAC, Conditional Access, privileged access controls and identity protection.
  • Monitor and respond to security events across cloud and endpoint platforms, working closely with SOC and security teams on investigation and remediation.
  • Support vulnerability remediation, patch governance, baseline compliance and configuration assurance across infrastructure and endpoints.
  • Administer and support Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) policies, including web filtering, traffic inspection and secure access to internet and SaaS services.
  • Work closely with Networking and Security teams to maintain secure hybrid connectivity and Zero Trust access patterns for office-based and remote users.
  • Identify and help manage cybersecurity risks, contributing to improvements in the organisation's overall security posture.
  • Provide technical leadership within the Infrastructure team and take ownership of complex technical issues through to resolution.
  • Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, standards and service runbooks.
  • Contribute to automation and continual service improvement using PowerShell, Azure CLI and infrastructure-as-code approaches.

Required Experience

  • 4+ years' professional experience in Azure infrastructure, endpoint management, cloud engineering or cloud security.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
  • Experience operating at Level 3 / senior technical support level.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud, virtual and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Intune, endpoint management and Windows administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access and identity security.
  • Good knowledge of SOC / Security Operations and cybersecurity risks.
  • Experience with vulnerability remediation, patching, security hardening and compliance.
  • Strong DNS administration experience across public and private environments.
  • Experience with Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) would be advantageous.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across infrastructure, networking, DNS, endpoints and access controls.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Azure CLI or other automation technologies.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and senior stakeholders.

Qualifications & Certifications

  • AZ-104 - Azure Administrator Associate
  • AZ-500 - Azure Security Engineer Associate
  • SC-300 - Identity and Access Administrator
  • MD-102 - Endpoint Administrator
  • Zscaler certification or practical enterprise administration experience with ZIA.
  • Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
