MCS Group has an exciting exclusive opportunity for an IAM Technical Specialist to join a major public sector transformation programme. This role sits within the integration team, tasked with delivering secure and scalable IAM solutions to support regional systems used across public services.

As IAM Technical Specialist, you will work with a team of IT professionals in the design, development, and support of critical system integrations. You will also play a central role in enhancing identity life-cycle processes, role-based access controls, and developing robust IAM frameworks that align with organisational security standards.

The Role:

  • Help the development of secure IAM workflows and system integration.
  • Design and implement access controls, entitlement structures, and audit/reporting capabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and third-party suppliers on delivery and support.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with security standards, including MFA, SoD, and least-privilege models.
  • Contribute to project planning, solution design, and ongoing support and enhancements.

Essential Criteria:

  • Solid hands-on expertise with platforms such as Entra ID, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Okta, or Oracle IAM.
  • Familiarity with IAM-related technologies & concepts (SSO, ADFS, MFA, RBAC, PKI, etc.).
  • Proven experience implementing security best practices like least privilege access and segregation of duties.
  • Experience creating and managing RBAC within large-scale enterprise systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage work-streams, meet tight deadlines, and deliver to specification.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience with protocols such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, and Kerberos.
  • Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
  • Experience with APIs and web service integration.

The Package

  • Location: Belfast / Hybrid
  • Duration: Temporary (initially) for 6-12 Months - Starting ASAP
  • Salary: £24.45/rate per hour | £47677.50/y
  • Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday - Friday)
