Are you an experienced HR professional looking for an opportunity to provide high-quality HR support within a public sector organisation?
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised HR Advisor to provide first-line advice, support recruitment activity, assist with employee relations matters and contribute to the delivery of an effective Human Resources service.
The Role
- Providing first-line HR advice and support to employees, managers and applicants on a range of HR queries and enquiries.
- Supporting recruitment and selection processes, including preparing documentation, reviewing job descriptions, assisting with shortlisting and participating in interview panels.
- Preparing job advertisements, contracts of employment, job offers and supporting pre-employment checks.
- Supporting employee relations processes, including attendance management, disciplinary, grievance and harassment procedures.
- Attending meetings with managers and employees, providing HR guidance and preparing relevant documentation.
- Preparing Occupational Health referrals and supporting absence management processes.
- Maintaining accurate HR records and updating HR systems in line with data protection requirements.
- Producing reports and information from HR systems as required.
- Managing HR inboxes and responding to employee and manager queries.
- Supporting probation processes, onboarding activities and employee lifecycle administration.
- Assisting with HR projects, policy reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Providing support to HR Managers and HR Officers and deputising when required.

- The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Essential
- CIPD Level 3 qualification or willingness to work towards achieving this.
- Minimum 2 years' experience working within a Human Resources environment.
- Experience providing first-line HR advice and support to employees and managers.
- Experience supporting recruitment and selection processes.
- Experience producing accurate HR documentation, letters, reports and correspondence.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work accurately and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
Desirable
- CIPD Level 5 qualification.
- Experience using a Human Resources Information System.
- Experience supporting employee attendance management.
- Knowledge of current HR practices and employment legislation.
