MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting an Estimator for our client, a leading civil engineering contractor delivering complex infrastructure, marine, environmental and public realm projects across Northern Ireland and the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and highly respected contractor with a strong pipeline of work, offering the chance to play a key role within a collaborative pre-construction team pricing a diverse range of civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil engineering tenders
- Review tender documentation, specifications and drawings to identify project requirements
- Complete quantity take-offs and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Assess project risks, opportunities and value engineering options
- Liaise with internal departments, clients, consultants and the supply chain throughout the tender process
- Support the preparation and submission of high-quality tender documentation
- Maintain awareness of current market rates, material costs and industry trends
About You
- Experience within the civil engineering sector
- Experience pricing infrastructure, highways, utilities, marine or general civil engineering projects
- Strong understanding of construction methods, tendering processes and cost planning
- Excellent analytical, numerical and commercial skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software
- A Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying qualification is desirable
- Full UK driving licence
