MCS Group is working with a global technology organisation to recruit a DevSecOps Engineer for their Belfast hub. This is a broad, hands-on role at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, security engineering, and DevSecOps. Ideal for someone who wants to own the full security lifecycle across a modern multi-cloud environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Designing and maintaining secure cloud environments including IAM, firewalls, network segmentation and encryption.
- Implementing and managing native security services across AWS (Security Hub, GuardDuty, Config, Control Tower) and Azure (Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, Key Vault).
- Building and managing security controls and infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Integrating SAST, DAST and IaC scanning into CI/CD pipelines to enforce security gates before deployment.
- Configuring cloud native logging and monitoring to detect incidents and trigger automated responses.
- Managing virtual asset inventory and establishing BCP/DR and backup procedures.
- Supporting cloud platform onboarding and offboarding and optimising workflows and user experience.
- Collaborating with DevOps and IT teams to embed security best practices across the organisation.
- Creating and maintaining runbooks, SOPs, incident response playbooks and escalation procedures.
What we're looking for:
- 3+ years hands-on experience in a DevSecOps, cloud security or SRE role with a strong security focus.
- Proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation for secure infrastructure provisioning.
- Solid experience with AWS and/or Azure native security services and security models.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash or PowerShell for automation and remediation.
- Practical knowledge of IAM, VPC/VNet configuration, firewalls, WAFs and data encryption.
- Understanding of DevSecOps principles and CI/CD pipeline integration.
- Clear communicator comfortable explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to have:
- Background in regulated industries or experience designing infrastructure to meet compliance frameworks.
- AWS Certified Security Specialty or Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate.
- Experience with AI enhanced cloud security tooling.
