MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with a global manufacturing organisation to recruit a Data Modeler to join a growing Corporate Data Intelligence function in Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly expanding team supporting enterprise-wide analytics and data transformation across Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Planning and CRM.
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing scalable data models that enable business-critical reporting, analytics and decision-making across a global organisation.
The Role
- Working closely with senior architects, data engineers and business stakeholders, you will act as the bridge between corporate functions and the data platform, translating business requirements into robust enterprise data models.
- Lead workshops and requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders across Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Planning and CRM.
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models for enterprise reporting and analytics.
- Develop and maintain dbt models, including transformations, testing, documentation and reusable components.
- Define source-to-target mappings and data lineage across ERP, CRM and other enterprise platforms.
- Produce ER diagrams, data dictionaries and technical documentation.
- Ensure consistency and integrity through strong master data modelling and governance practices.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics and BI teams to deliver reusable, scalable data assets.
- Promote data modelling standards, naming conventions and best practices across the organisation.
- Work closely with senior technical leaders to align solutions with enterprise architecture standards.
About You
We're keen to speak with experienced Data Modelers, Data Architects, Analytics Engineers or Senior Data Engineers with strong data modelling expertise. You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience designing conceptual, logical and physical data models.
- Strong SQL skills and experience analysing and validating complex datasets.
- Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformations and modelling.
- Experience working with enterprise ERP or CRM platforms (SAP experience is advantageous but not essential).
- Strong understanding of dimensional modelling, data warehousing and enterprise data architecture principles.
- Experience gathering requirements and working directly with business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
Desirable Experience
- Snowflake Master Data Management (MDM)
- Salesforce or other enterprise CRM platforms
- Data engineering concepts including ELT pipelines
- Experience working within large enterprise or corporate environments
