MCS Group is delighted to be working with a well-established organisation in Newry to recruit a Group HR Officer on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a busy and collaborative people function, providing hands-on support across the full employee lifecycle while contributing to a positive and compliant workplace culture. You will act as a trusted point of contact for day-to-day HR matters, supporting the delivery of effective people practices across the organisation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Providing first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees
- Supporting end-to-end recruitment activities, from role scoping through to onboarding
- Managing onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth employee experience
- Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems in line with data protection requirements
- Preparing HR documentation including contracts, letters, and reports
- Supporting employee relations matters, including absence management and performance issues
- Assisting with training and development initiatives across teams
- Supporting the implementation and review of HR policies and procedures
- Ensuring compliance with relevant employment legislation and internal standards
- Assisting with payroll-related HR administration and statutory reporting
The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a generalist HR or HR administration role
- CIPD qualified (or working towards)
- Experience with graduate programmes / apprenticeships is beneficial
- Ability to work independently and use own initiative
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels
- Full driving licence preferred (travel between sites will be necessary)
