This is an excellent opportunity for a communications professional to deliver high-profile campaigns, manage media relations, create compelling content across multiple channels, and support strategic engagement with residents, stakeholders, elected members, and the wider community.

The Role
  • Develop and deliver annual marketing and communications plans, managing budgets effectively to support organisational objectives.
  • Lead multi-channel marketing campaigns, including messaging, copywriting, content creation, advertising, media engagement, and campaign reporting.
  • Maintain digital communications channels, including website content and support for social media activity.
  • Monitor performance data, audience trends, and campaign metrics to evaluate effectiveness and inform future communications strategies.
  • Build and manage media relations, handling enquiries, drafting press releases, preparing spokespersons, and promoting positive coverage.
  • Identify and maximise PR opportunities, monitor media coverage, maintain media contacts, and provide communications support around key meetings and issues.
  • Coordinate a wide range of communications activities, including events, speeches, photography, publications, promotional materials, policy updates, and out-of-hours emergency communications support.
The Person

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Essential
  • Degree (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) in Marketing, Communications, Business Studies, or a related discipline; alternatively extensive relevant experience.
  • Experience in marketing and PR, including planning and delivering online and offline communication campaigns.
  • Experience producing and managing publications and communication materials.
  • Ability to work independently, maintain high levels of accuracy, and deliver quality outputs.
Other
  • Full UK driving licence (or access to suitable transport where a disability prevents driving).
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or additional hours as required, with remuneration in line with organisational policies.
