Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Dungannon, Co. Tyrone
Department: Cutting Shop & Machine Shop
MCS Group are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a global engineering manufacturer with a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and sustainability. With operations across multiple international sites and a workforce of over 400 people, they design and produce specialist equipment for customers in the aviation and transport sectors.
The Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in driving production efficiency, quality, and innovation within the Cutting Shop. You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective manufacturing processes, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating across departments to ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and implement efficient, cost-effective production methods for sub-components and final assemblies.
- Develop and manage nesting and BOM strategies.
- Work with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues and implement root cause fixes.
- Introduce and maintain best practice standard work on the shop floor to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Support the installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment and tooling.
- Identify and deliver process improvement opportunities using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Manage project activities, including risk assessments, resource planning, and cost control.
About You
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Process Engineering (or relevant experience).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling.
- Experience in Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
