MCS Group is looking for an experienced Technology & Transformation Consultant for a short-term piece of work in Belfast. This Technology and Transformation Consultant will take on an interim role and will provide independent strategic advice during an important period of organisational change. This Technology and Transformation Consultant will focus on evaluating the current technology landscape, identifying opportunities to improve how technology supports the organisation, and developing a clear, prioritised plan for future investment and transformation.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you'll assess existing systems, digital capabilities and governance arrangements, providing practical recommendations that balance immediate improvements with longer-term strategic objectives. This is an excellent opportunity to influence the future direction of a technology function, helping to shape a practical roadmap that delivers measurable business value both in the short and long term.

The Role

  • Review the organisation's current technology environment and operating model
  • Assess existing systems, processes and governance to identify strengths, risks and improvement opportunities
  • Develop a prioritised technology strategy aligned to business objectives
  • Identify opportunities to improve collaboration tools, business applications, information management and operational efficiency
  • Recommend practical initiatives that can deliver early value while supporting wider transformation goals
  • Evaluate technology resilience, risk management and operational controls, providing independent recommendations for improvement
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation to understand priorities and gain consensus
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, practical and commercially focused manner

The Person

  • Experience delivering technology strategy, digital transformation or organisational improvement initiatives and be comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience assessing technology environments and producing strategic recommendations
  • A strong understanding of technology governance, business systems and organisational change
  • Knowledge of information management, automation and process improvement
  • An appreciation of cyber resilience, technology risk and good governance practices
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to work independently and quickly build credibility within an organisation
