The Role:

  • Managed end-to-end payroll processing across multiple entities with both fortnightly and monthly pay cycles.
  • Prepared and processed payroll inputs including hours worked, sickness, annual leave, pensions, and benefits administration.
  • Ensured full compliance with payroll legislation through HMRC submissions, pension reporting, auto-enrolment checks, and year-end processes.
  • Maintained accurate employee payroll records, issued payslips and P60s, and resolved payroll-related queries efficiently.
  • Reconciled payroll, pension, and benefit data against financial systems, including monthly and year-end reporting.
  • Produced payroll reports, maintained spreadsheets and presentations, and provided general administrative and document management support.
  • Worked collaboratively within the wider finance team while maintaining compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, equality, and operational standards.

The Person

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Essential: UK payroll processing experience.
  • Skilled in Sage Payroll, Excel, and payroll/accounting systems.
  • Strong knowledge of HMRC, pensions, and payroll compliance.
  • Experience managing multiple payroll frequencies.
  • Additional experience with MS Office 365, SharePoint, PSA, and Time & Attendance systems.
