MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to join our client's innovative engineering team developing market-leading technology used across the global power and utilities industry. This is a temporary opportunity and can start asap. The role will be based in Lisburn.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on exciting new product development projects, taking designs from concept through to testing, validation and launch. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, solve real engineering challenges, and play a key role in delivering high-quality products used around the world.
The role:
- Designing mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks/AutoCAD
- Producing detailed drawings, BOMs and engineering documentation
- Supporting prototype builds, testing and product validation
- Working closely with manufacturing to resolve production issues and improve designs
- Driving continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
- Ensuring products meet quality and regulatory standards
The successful candidate:
- Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer (or equivalent experience)
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment
- Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD)
- Experience designing machined and sheet metal components
- A practical, hands-on approach with experience building and testing prototypes
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
