MCS is seeking a professional and effective Asset Governance Officer to join a key Public Body based in their HQ in Lisburn. This role is vital in ensuring the effective management, compliance, and governance of all organisational assets, including fleet, operational equipment, specialist PPE, and uniforms.
Purpose of the Role
As an Asset Governance Officer, you will provide a high-quality asset management service across the organisation. You will be responsible for managing the Stock & Asset Management Information System (MIS) and maintaining NIFRS Finance management and reporting systems. Working as part of an integral team, you will ensure the RSSC operates effectively to support the vision and mission of NIFRS.
Key Responsibilities
- Asset Lifecycle Management: Manage the creation, movement, and archiving of all fleet and equipment assets from procurement through to disposal.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure regulatory compliance for maintenance services and service contracts, including managing Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) and scheduling PSV/MOT tests.
- Specialist PPE Support: Organise fitting for new recruits and manage the laundry and maintenance requirements for service-wide specialist PPE.
- Data & Reporting: Utilising technical data to carry out investigations and produce complex reports for senior management.
- Financial & Contract Management: Raise requisitions and purchase orders, manage external asset servicing contracts, and oversee fuel audits to prevent fraud.
Mandatory Skills & Requirements:
- A degree in a relevant discipline plus at least 2 years of experience in a demanding office environment including MIS and Asset Management.
Essential Skills and Requirements:
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- IT literacy, specifically in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- A valid driving licence and access to a form of transport.
The Package:
- Salary: £18.22/h (£34,344 pro-rata) PAYE
- Hours: 36.25h/w
- Duration: 6 Months with possible extension
- Benefits: Hybrid Working + Flexi‑Start (after on‑boarding subject to business needs)
