MCS Group is looking for a Lead Python Developer for a 6 month contract in Belfast. As Lead Python Developer, you will play a vital role on the development team for our client's core product. This role encompasses both Technical Leadership and People Leadership, and this Lead Python Developer will exhibit expertise across both areas. This Lead Python Developer will provide technical oversight and guide the team, while also gaining exposure to a niche yet rapidly growing business area. The Details This Python Developer will take the lead on design of solutions which maximise the capabilities and resilience of the core application. You will build low latency API's which will interact with the external specialist market. Additionally you will design and build data models to demonstrate the relationships between multiple complex data sources, and build solutions for a variety of data capture processes. You will be instrumental in implementing a robust testing process. This role will require you to utilise your hands-on technical expertise, while still providing overall leadership and helping to build a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. The Person A degree (or equivalent) in a STEM subject is required, along within at least 5+ years experience in a similar role. You will have demonstrable, hands-on experience with Python, SQL, AWS (ECS / Lambda) and Terraform for CI/CD. An understanding of data science tools such as NumPy, Pandas etc would be preferable. This role also requires a solid understanding of design patterns and architecture. You will have demonstrable prior experience of working with and manipulating complex data sets. Due to the Leadership nature of this role, proven team management and leadership experience is also essential. Rate: Competitive Duration: 6 months initially IR35: Inside Location: You must be available for hybrid working in Belfast City Centre – 2 -3 days per week in office for the duration of the assignment.
