MCS Group has a great opportunity for an IT Support Officer to join a dynamic team delivering digital services across a public sector organisation in Bangor. This is a temporary role until March 2026, offering a hybrid working model with three days per week required onsite in Bangor. As IT Support Officer, you will help with day to day IT queries, setting up equipment, creating accounts and assisting with IT Support requests for the team.
The Role
- Provide 1st line support, logging and managing service desk incidents and requests.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and end-user issues within agreed SLAs.
- Install, maintain and upgrade IT equipment and user applications.
- Administer user accounts within Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
- Manage and configure mobile devices, ensuring compliance with MDM policies.
- Liaise with third-party vendors to resolve technical issues.
- Promote best practices in IT security and maintain relevant asset and compliance records.
The Person: Essential Criteria:
- Third-level qualification in an IT-related field OR 3 years\’ relevant experience in a complex IT environment (300+ users).
- At least 1 year\’s experience covering:
- Service desk operations and call logging
- Supporting Microsoft 365 and Windows desktop environments
- Installation and troubleshooting of IT and telephony hardware
- Administering users in Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint and Teams
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport is preferable.
Salary: Equivalent to £31, 586 per annum (£16.87 per hour)
Hours: 36 hours per week
Duration: Until March 2026
Location: Bangor (hybrid – 3 days per week in the office)
