Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with an established customer base, ensuring exceptional levels of service and account support.
  • Drive repeat sales activity through proactive telephone and email engagement with customers.
  • Support the Area Sales Manager in identifying and developing new business opportunities within the territory.
  • Process customer orders from enquiry through to delivery, ensuring accuracy and a seamless customer experience.
  • Liaise closely with production, planning and logistics teams to coordinate customer requirements and delivery expectations.
  • Provide customers with product information, availability updates and commercial advice to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Resolve customer queries and issues in a timely and professional manner, ensuring positive outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within CRM and ERP systems.
  • Support achievement of sales targets through account growth, customer retention and upselling opportunities.
  • Work alongside Finance and Credit Control teams to support efficient account management and invoice resolution.
  • Investigate and manage delivery issues, ensuring customers are kept informed throughout the process.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across sales processes and customer service standards.

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience in an Internal Sales, Sales Support, Account Management or Customer Service role.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build lasting customer relationships.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • A degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Commercial awareness with a customer-focused approach.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience within manufacturing, construction materials, timber, building products or a related industry.
  • Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems.
  • Experience managing customer orders from enquiry through to delivery.
  • Understanding of account management and territory support activities.
