Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage and develop relationships with an established customer base, ensuring exceptional levels of service and account support.
- Drive repeat sales activity through proactive telephone and email engagement with customers.
- Support the Area Sales Manager in identifying and developing new business opportunities within the territory.
- Process customer orders from enquiry through to delivery, ensuring accuracy and a seamless customer experience.
- Liaise closely with production, planning and logistics teams to coordinate customer requirements and delivery expectations.
- Provide customers with product information, availability updates and commercial advice to maximise sales opportunities.
- Resolve customer queries and issues in a timely and professional manner, ensuring positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within CRM and ERP systems.
- Support achievement of sales targets through account growth, customer retention and upselling opportunities.
- Work alongside Finance and Credit Control teams to support efficient account management and invoice resolution.
- Investigate and manage delivery issues, ensuring customers are kept informed throughout the process.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across sales processes and customer service standards.
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in an Internal Sales, Sales Support, Account Management or Customer Service role.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build lasting customer relationships.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- A degree in a relevant discipline.
- Commercial awareness with a customer-focused approach.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience within manufacturing, construction materials, timber, building products or a related industry.
- Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems.
- Experience managing customer orders from enquiry through to delivery.
- Understanding of account management and territory support activities.
