As Interim Financial Controller you will be responsible for the following:
- Manage Accounts Team, including: Support team & manage workloads to achieve business time frames
- Plan and co-ordinate the annual Finance Timetable
- Review bank reconciliations & daily funds transfers
- Review Accounts Mailbox & support requests
Reporting:
- Time reporting
- Statutory accounts
- Government surveys
- Coordinate annual audit
- Coordinate annual PSA submission
Budgets & Cash Flow:
- Produce firm-wide capacity budgets for fee earners and revise quarterly
- Produce firm-wide salary budget
- Produce firm-wide fee targets based on capacity and revise quarterly
Attend meetings:
- Attend regular Accounts team meetings and contribute as required
- Attend regular Finance Meetings with Managing & Finance Partners and Finance Director and internal Firm meetings on behalf of Finance Team
Provide support:
- Assist the Finance Director to provide technical support in VAT, Tax and Regulatory matters
- Produce commercial information for tender submissions and resolve ledger queries
Other duties as required, to include:
- Provide cover for Finance Director and Senior Financial Controller
- Provide ad hoc management information to partners, colleagues and clients
- Provide analysis to support Working Capital Manager as required
The Person:
- Qualified Accountant
- Experience working within professional services
- Experience in managing a team
- Experience in reporting to multiple stakeholders (e.g. Partners)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to use initiative
- Extremely competent working with MS Office and accounting systems
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- ACA qualified Chartered Accountant
- Auditing background
