Are you an enthusiastic HR student or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment? A local organisation is seeking a motivated HR student to join its team on a 3-month fixed-term contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to develop practical HR knowledge while supporting a busy HR function and working alongside experienced HR professionals.

The Role

As an HR Assistant, you will provide administrative and general HR support across a range of people-related activities. Working closely with the HR team and line managers, you will gain valuable exposure to employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, HR administration, and employee engagement initiatives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line administrative support for HR-related queries from employees and managers.
  • Assist with recruitment activities, including preparing job adverts, coordinating interviews, and supporting the onboarding process.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection requirements.
  • Support absence management processes by updating records and assisting with return-to-work documentation.
  • Help coordinate training sessions and assist with the preparation of HR materials and communications.
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and HR projects aimed at improving workplace culture.
  • Assist with the implementation and consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team as required.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Currently studying towards, or recently completed, a degree in HR or CIPD qualification.
  • An interest in developing a career in Human Resources.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new HR systems.
  • Eager to learn and thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
