HR Officer – Newtownabbey – Energy Sector
MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with a rapidly expanding organisation based in Newtownabbey to recruit an HR Officer. This role offers the opportunity to join a business at a pivotal stage of growth, as it expands into new markets and prepares for a significant increase in headcount.
Reporting into a small, collaborative HR team, this is a hands‑on role ideally suited to someone who is keen to gain broad exposure across the HR function in a fast‑paced environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Supporting high-volume recruitment activity, including coordinating interviews, onboarding and inductions
- Managing day-to-day HR administration, including the HR inbox, employee records and new starter processes
- Preparing and submitting monthly payroll information to an external payroll provider
- Tracking probation periods, sickness absence and benefits administration
- Supporting employee relations activity, providing guidance to line managers
- Assisting with internal communications, charity initiatives and wider HR projects as the business grows
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in an HR Assistant or HR Officer role
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-moving environment
- Strong organisational and communication skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident supporting recruitment processes and HR administration
- CIPD qualified (desirable)
