MCS Group is delighted to be working with a leading, growing Wholesale/Distribution company to recruit a Health, Safety & Environmental Officer to join their team on a Fixed Term Contract for a minimum of 12 months. My client is on the lookout for a proactive Health, Safety & Environment Officer to champion safety, wellbeing, and sustainability across the business. This role will suit someone coming into the business, to help set up Safety systems of works and help the company achieve ISO standards. The role will be based between sites in Carrickfergus and Newtownards, with more time spent in Carrickfergus. Therefore, a drivers license and access to a car will be essential.
Responsibilities:
- Be the go-to for managers, supervisors, and colleagues on all HS&E matters.
- Shape and promote a positive safety-first culture throughout the business.
- Carry out risk assessments, inspections, and investigations - and ensure lessons learned turn into action.
- Lead internal audits, support external ones, and bring people with you along the way.
- Keep policies sharp and up to date with current legislation and best practice.
- Own compliance training - from rolling out updates to delivering engaging in-house sessions.
- Support our Sustainability Action Plan with fresh ideas, reporting, and follow-up.
- Keep everything running smoothly with effective use of our H&S management systems.
