MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for our client, a growing construction company delivering major new-build projects across the UK and Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of commercial management across significant projects, with genuine progression into a senior commercial management position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of major construction projects from procurement through to completion.
  • Lead subcontract procurement, valuations, cost reporting and final accounts.
  • Prepare and manage monthly valuations, CVRs and commercial reports.
  • Manage variations, contractual entitlement and commercial negotiations.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project life-cycle.
  • Work closely with Contracts, Site and Design teams to maintain strong commercial control.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and final settlements.
  • Provide regular commercial reporting and updates to senior management.
  • Support the successful delivery of projects across the UK.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering significant new-build construction projects.
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of commercial responsibilities.
  • Experience within healthcare, care homes, hotels, residential or similar high-specification developments would be advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to projects throughout the UK.
