The Role:
- Provide specialist technical support and expertise across a diverse range of IT systems, applications and services.
- Manage and support existing systems while contributing to the development and implementation of new systems and technology solutions.
- Work closely with internal teams, users and external suppliers to understand requirements, resolve issues and ensure effective service delivery.
- Manage system incidents, service requests and technical issues, ensuring these are progressed effectively and within agreed service standards.
- Support the management, upgrading and development of IT systems, ensuring they remain secure, reliable, compatible and fit for purpose.
- Assist with the design, implementation, testing, development and ongoing support of complex IT solutions.
- Coordinate system upgrades, releases and changes, working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition.
- Monitor system and service performance, identifying opportunities to improve reliability, capacity, availability and overall user experience.
- Provide advice, guidance and training to users where required, helping colleagues get the most from the systems and services available to them.
- Contribute to IT projects, service improvement initiatives and the introduction of new technologies.
- Support business planning activities, including the development of business cases, tenders, quotations and longer-term IT strategies.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues, senior stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Provide support and guidance to other members of the IT team, contributing to a positive, collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Help ensure IT services operate in line with relevant policies, procedures, governance and information security requirements.
The Person:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- A relevant qualification in IT, Computing, Systems Development or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working within an IT, systems, applications or technical environment, with a good understanding of how business systems are managed and supported.
- Experience managing, maintaining, developing or upgrading IT systems and the ability to investigate and resolve technical issues.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a busy environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to a range of audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
- A strong customer-focused approach, with a commitment to delivering a high-quality IT service.
- A full, current UK driving licence or access to transport to fulfil the requirements of the role.
