We're looking for an HR Assistant to join a growing transport organisation in a varied and people-focused role. You'll support the HR & Compliance team across recruitment, onboarding, employee administration, compliance, and training activities, helping to ensure a positive employee experience and smooth HR operations.
The role:
- Provide day-to-day support across a range of HR and compliance activities.
- Work closely with managers and employees to coordinate recruitment, maintain HR records, support training initiatives, and assist with compliance and health & safety processes.
The main responsibilities include:
- Support recruitment and onboarding activities, including interview coordination and inductions.
- Prepare employment contracts and employee documentation.
- Maintain accurate HR records and systems.
- Respond to employee queries and provide administrative HR support.
- Assist with compliance, health & safety, and audit requirements.
- Coordinate training activities and maintain training records.
- Support HR projects and initiatives across the employee lifecycle.
- Produce reports and ensure HR documentation is up to date and compliant.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in an HR Assistant or HR Officer role.
- Good understanding of employment law and HR best practice.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- CIPD qualification or working towards.
- Experience within transport or logistics is advantageous.
