MCS Group is looking for an experienced Business Analyst / Data Strategy Consultant to support the discovery and planning phase of an enterprise data transformation programme. This is a business-facing contract, where you'll bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical architects, helping shape a future-state data strategy.

The Role

  • Working closely with senior stakeholders to understand how the organisation currently uses its data, identify opportunities for improvement and define the roadmap for a modern data platform.
  • Running stakeholder workshops across business and technical teams.
  • Understanding business processes, data flows and how data is used to support decision making.
  • Mapping current-state processes, systems and integrations.
  • Defining future-state business and data requirements.
  • Working alongside Solution Architects to translate business needs into technical direction.
  • Supporting data governance, operating models and ownership frameworks.
  • Producing discovery documentation, recommendations and implementation roadmaps.

Essential Certification (Non-Negotiable)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert - this is an essential requirement for the project.

Essential experience

  • Significant Business Analysis experience within enterprise transformation programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills at senior leadership level.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and gathering complex business requirements.
  • The ability to understand both the people, the processes and how the business consumes and uses data.
  • Business process mapping and process improvement experience.
  • Experience working alongside Solution Architects and technical delivery teams.

You'll have a good understanding of technologies such as: Azure Data Platform, Microsoft Fabric, Data Warehousing, ETL / ELT, Power BI, and Data Governance.

Location: Client is based in Northern Ireland but remote working elsewhere in the UK may be considered.

Daily Rate: £DOE

Duration: Circa 3 months
