MCS Group is exclusively recruiting an Engineering Configuration Manager in partnership with our client, a global space and defence organisation based in Belfast.

So, what is a Configuration Manager? And what will you do?
The primary responsibility of the Engineering Configuration Manager will be to provide day-to-day support across multiple projects , where you will be required to follow Configuration Management processes, procedures and standards using Microsoft Office tools and Configuration Management tools.
You will:
- Create / Update project Configuration Management Plans
- Administer CM processes on projects
- Follow CM and change management procedures and checking that engineering staff have complied with these procedures
- Produce Configuration Status Reports
- Interface with Document Services and Project Issuing Office
- Participate in the phase reviews (PDR, CDR, etc) and in configuration audits (FCA and PCA)
The successful candidate:
- Experience gained in a similar or equivalent role. Candidates with experience in engineering change, configuration, control or product Lifecycle management would be of particular interest.
- Experience using CM tools (e.g. Windchill PLM, SAP Teamcenter, etc)
- Experience in the use of Configuration Management processes and principles
- Experience of working in a small team and managing stakeholders
- An appreciation of the full development project life cycle
- Strong PC based tools skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to produce work output on time and to schedule, along with strong attention to detail with a logical methodology of working, and the ability to produce structured documentation and reports.
- Must be a team worker with good interpersonal skills
