Join a busy Finance team in Coleraine, with flexi-time and the opportunity to take ownership of key payroll and pensions processes within a large, multi-disciplinary organisation. MCS Group are proud to be partnering with a leading public sector organisation in their search for a Payroll Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who is confident working with complex payroll processes, pensions, statutory requirements and financial data. The Role: Support the delivery of weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring payments are accurate, timely and compliant with relevant legislation and procedures. Process and validate salaries, wages, expenses, deductions and pension contributions, including BACS payments. Manage payroll and pensions administration including PAYE, National Insurance, NILGOSC, automatic enrolment and statutory payments. Maintain accurate employee and payroll records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with Data Protection legislation. Prepare payroll, pensions, management information and regulatory reports, returns and ad hoc financial information as required. Respond to payroll queries from managers and employees, providing advice on pay, tax, National Insurance, pensions and deductions. Support the implementation and continuous improvement of payroll systems and procedures, identifying anomalies and resolving payroll-related issues. The Person The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience: Essential: 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and a numerical subject, at Grades A-C. Experience within a payroll environment in a large, multi-disciplinary organisation, including experience of providing a timely and accurate payroll and pensions service. Experience of cash handling, using accounts/payroll software, collating data and preparing reports. OR Candidates who do not hold the above educational qualification may be considered where they can demonstrate relevant experience, including the areas outlined above. What's in it for you?
