Beam was founded in 2012 by three engineers with a vision to modernise the dental benefits industry through technology. What started with the Beam Brush - an early IoT innovation in healthcare - has grown into a company operating across 40+ states. Today, Beam is transforming employee benefits through an AI-powered digital platform, combining intelligent underwriting, self-service tools, and human support to simplify a traditionally complex space. As they continue to scale, AI is at the core of how they build, operate, and innovate.
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years' experience in software engineering, with exposure to platform, infrastructure, or developer tooling environments
- Ideally past experience with React and Ruby, though we're open to strong full-stack engineers with any background
- Proven ability to build, improve, or interact with internal platforms that enhance developer experience, scalability, and system reliability
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (ideally AWS), including how to design for performance, availability, and cost efficiency
- Experience working with or contributing to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and modern DevOps practices
- AI tooling experience is essential, particularly applying AI to improve platform capabilities, reduce manual effort, and optimise engineering workflows
