MCS Group is working exclusively with a new MedTech entrant to Northern Ireland in their search for a Principal Software Engineer. This will be a fully-remote, senior engineering role within a high-growth MedTech organisation. We're helping our client build a compact, high-calibre engineering team to modernise systems, ship new capabilities, and test ideas quickly. This role is perfect for a senior or principal software engineer who enjoys building, improving, and making things work in the real world.

What you'll do:
- Take ideas and turn them into working, production-ready systems
- Improve and evolve existing platforms without unnecessary rewrites
- Build APIs, services, and (where needed) clean, usable frontends
- Move systems toward modern, cloud-native ways of working
- Use AI tools to speed up delivery and focus on what really matters
- Test ideas quickly through prototypes, then scale what works
What we're looking for:
- Strong experience building and owning software in production
- Comfortable across backend, systems, and some frontend when needed
- Solid understanding of modern cloud and delivery practices
- Able to make sensible trade-offs and keep things pragmatic
- Already using AI tools to enhance how you build software
