MCS Group is exclusively partnering with an established and growing SaaS business operating within the financial services space, who are looking to hire a Junior Product Owner to support the continued development of their product suite. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career professional to join a collaborative product team delivering solutions used by banks, fund managers and financial services organisations across highly regulated markets. The role will focus predominantly on the company's core Platform, while also providing exposure to the wider product offering.
You'll work closely with experienced Product Managers, developers and stakeholders to help shape product priorities, support sprint delivery and ensure releases are delivered successfully and on time. The environment is Agile, delivery focused and well suited to someone who enjoys problem solving, collaborating with technical teams and learning how complex software products are built and improved.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting the maintenance and prioritisation of the product backlog across regulatory reporting products
- Writing and refining user stories, acceptance criteria and feature specifications with guidance from senior product team members
- Helping coordinate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement and retrospectives
- Working closely with development teams to support delivery and manage day-to-day priorities
- Assisting in translating regulatory and operational requirements into clear product scope
- Collaborating with Product Managers and stakeholders across the business to gather feedback and requirements
- Supporting product releases and helping ensure delivery against internal deadlines
- Acting as a point of contact for product-related queries and coordinating with the wider team where needed
- Contributing ideas and insights towards the ongoing evolution of the platform and product roadmap
What we're looking for:
- A recent graduate or someone with 1-2 years' experience in a Product, Business Analyst, Project Coordination or similar role
- Interest in SaaS products, technology and Agile delivery
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Analytical mindset with good attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Figma would be beneficial, but not essential
- Any exposure to financial services, compliance, reporting or regulated environments would be advantageous, though not required
