MCS Group has a permanent position available for an IT Manager in Belfast. This hands-on technical leadership role will join a prominent all-island charity and social enterprise, working within their Digital & Technology department. You will combine operational oversight, people management, and overall operational accountability for service performance, working closely with senior leadership to support organisational goals and deliver digital transformation. You will use your existing technical skill set to own the entire design, transition, operation, and improvement lifecycle for all IT services across the organisation. Key Responsibilities
- The post holder will act as the responsible owner for leading and delivering end-to-end IT services.
- Service Ownership & Operations: Leading the IT Service Desk to deliver consistent incident, request, problem, and change management processes across 1st-3rd line tickets.
- Microsoft 365, Identity & Endpoint: Providing operational ownership of the M365 tenancy (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online, Power Platform), ensuring strong security governance and smooth adoption.
- Cyber & Information Security: Maintaining ongoing compliance with Cyber Essentials Plus and supporting ISO 27001 audit and implementation frameworks.
- Projects & Change Delivery: Leading and overseeing the delivery of IT projects and changes, contributing directly to the wider Digital Transformation Programme to consolidate or replace legacy systems.
- Supplier & Financial Management: Managing assigned IT suppliers and managed service providers to ensure cost control, contract compliance, and value for money, while inputting into operational budgets and procurement.
- People Leadership: Coaching and developing a high-performing, customer-focused IT team by setting clear objectives, holding regular performance reviews, and addressing skills gaps.
A relevant third-level ICT qualification or equivalent. A minimum of 3 years managing an IT Team and IT Service Desk. Proven experience in managing complex projects in line with set timescales. Demonstrable experience of ICT governance and management of an organisation's security procedure and posture. Experience of managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, alongside a commitment to continuous IT service improvement. M365 admin, Cyber Security, Device management, SharePoint, or SaaS admin. A full current driving licence and access to a car is essential, along with valid Business Insurance for the role (reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence).
