Are you a qualified accountant looking to progress your career within a complex public sector environment, providing high-quality financial management, business case development and strategic support to senior stakeholders? Responsibilities include:
- Providing financial support to senior managers and budget holders to ensure effective financial management and control.
- Developing business cases and service proposals through detailed costing, modelling and financial analysis.
- Delivering expert financial advice, identifying variances, risks and supporting corrective action.
- Contributing to financial planning, reporting, capital programme monitoring and statutory returns.
- Supporting budget setting, monitoring and reporting in line with financial strategy and governance requirements.
- Assisting budget holders with financial performance management, reporting and service development options.
- Contributing to continuous improvement in financial processes, policies, systems and management information.
The Person: As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:
- CCAB qualified Accountant with 3+ years' experience in financial management.
- Experience in budgetary control and preparation of management accounts and reports.
- Proven ability to develop business cases and support investment decision-making.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office to analyse and present complex financial data.
