MCS Executive has been appointed by Keys Finance to hire a Head of Finance & Commercial Control, a key senior appointment within an established and ambitious specialist finance business. Keys Finance operates across the UK and Ireland and is entering an important phase of growth, with annual lending of approximately £80m and an ambition to grow beyond £200m over the next three years. This role will be central to ensuring that growth is properly funded, commercially controlled and supported by strong financial insight.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the Board, this is a broader role than a traditional financial reporting position. The successful candidate will lead the finance function while taking ownership of treasury and funding oversight, forecasting, commercial analysis, profitability, management information and finance transformation.

  • Lead the finance function, budgeting, forecasting and board-level reporting
  • Strengthen treasury, cash flow, funding and financial controls
  • Provide commercial challenge around pricing, margin and profitability
  • Improve management information and turn financial data into actionable insight
  • Drive improvements in finance systems, automation and processes

We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with senior-level experience in a commercially focused finance role, ideally at Financial Controller, Head of Finance, Commercial Finance Lead or similar level. You should bring strong experience across management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis and board reporting, alongside a sound understanding of treasury, cash flow, controls and working capital.

Just as importantly, you will be commercially minded, able to challenge assumptions, influence senior stakeholders and translate financial information into clear business decisions. Experience within lending, financial services, asset finance, receivables finance, banking, leasing or premium finance would be particularly advantageous, as would exposure to bank facilities, covenants, pricing models and commercial profitability analysis.

£85,000 - £100,000 depending on experience, alongside private healthcare, pension, 36 days' annual leave including statutory holidays, hybrid working and free on-site parking. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused finance leader to join an entrepreneurial, independent business and play a meaningful role in shaping its next phase of growth.
