MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with a leading organisation operating within Northern Ireland's energy sector as they seek to appoint a Data Analyst to join their team. Significant investment is taking place across the organisation, creating a range of innovative projects focused on supporting a cleaner and more secure energy future. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team responsible for delivering data-driven insights that support renewable energy activities, market reporting and wider business decision-making. This role offers the opportunity to combine technical data expertise with meaningful work that contributes to the future development of the energy system.
As a Data Analyst, you will act as a key data specialist within the team, helping transform complex datasets into valuable insights and reporting outputs. You will work across a variety of activities, supporting reporting requirements, developing analytical tools and helping improve how data is utilised across the organisation.
- Extracting and analysing data from multiple systems and databases
- Developing performance monitoring tools and analytical solutions using Python
- Maintaining existing code and supporting the migration of legacy tools and scripts into modern technologies
- Building and maintaining Tableau dashboards for internal stakeholders
- Producing internal and external reports relating to market and operational data
- Acting as a key point of contact for data extraction, analysis and reporting requests
- Supporting business teams with data-driven insights and decision-making
- Collaborating with IT teams to ensure future systems and databases support business requirements
- Representing the team in engagements with industry stakeholders, regulators and government bodies where required
What You Need
- Degree in a technical, analytical or coding-related discipline
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Reporting Analyst or similar role
- Strong SQL and data extraction skills
- Commercial experience using Python
- Experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources
- Dashboarding and data visualisation experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
