MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with a leading Tier 1 construction contractor to recruit an experienced and motivated Bid Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the success of an established bid team on a range of interesting high value projects.
The Role
We are working with a leading construction company who are seeking a Bid Manager to join their established team. Working closely with the wider team, you will play a strategic role managing a variety of tenders and encouraging successful bid response while also taking responsibility for client engagement.
You will:
- Provide strategic leadership to the bidding team, setting clear direction across multiple concurrent tenders and leading by example to deliver high-quality bid submissions.
- Develop and agree bid win strategies, bid programmes, and tender positions in collaboration with the Pre-Construction Director, Bid Director, Commercial, and Estimating teams.
- Manage the full tender process, organising and chairing internal and external progress meetings, while driving engagement with clients and wider project teams.
- Identify, manage, and communicate key risks and opportunities, ensuring contract, tenant, and design documentation are fully reviewed and accurately reflected in submissions.
- Contribute to wider business development activities, maintain a strong understanding of each scheme, and travel across the UK as required.

The Ideal Candidate
- Understanding of two-stage, single stage and negotiated tendering.
- Working with different forms of building contract - JCT, NEC and bespoke.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively.
