MCS is partnering with a leading Public Body that is currently expanding its project delivery capabilities. Following a recent review of their operational needs, they are seeking a hands-on, organised individual to join their team as an Assistant Project Manager. This isn't a role for someone who wants to just oversee from a distance. This is for a coordinator - someone who enjoys managing service providers, tracking budgets, and seeing complex IT and strategic projects come to life from scratch.
Requirements:
- Level 4 qualification in Business, IT Management, or a related discipline, OR 2 years of experience managing IT support.
- Proven experience in managing third-party service providers and contracts.
- Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills with the ability to manage internal help desk functions.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, delivery, and evaluation.
- Experience in drafting budgets, procurement, or implementing operational plans is highly desirable.
Your Responsibilities:
- Managing external IT support contracts, overseeing internal help desk queries, and leading IT improvement projects.
- Setting and overseeing project budgets, tracking spending, and preparing business cases for new purchases.
- Building relationships with partners, negotiating service agreements, and monitoring performance to ensure expectations are met.
- Assisting the Director with the development of the organisation's strategy, operational plans, and performance measures.
