I'm working with an early-stage Irish company in the climate tech space, already live with customers and now pushing hard to scale their platform. They sit on a huge volume of real-world energy data - and are now starting to layer in AI to unlock it.
We're talking:
- Natural language queries over complex datasets
- AI-driven insights for customers
- Longer term - using AI to break down and understand energy usage patterns at source
This isn't theory or "AI strategy decks" - it's being built into a live product.
The role
You'll come in as a dedicated Backend Engineer, taking ownership of how the platform is built, scaled, and run. You'll be:
- Building and scaling Node.js services
- Working closely with AWS and production environments
- Moving the platform from manual to automated
- Designing systems around onboarding, access, and multi-tenant use
- Playing a key role in how AI features are integrated into the backend
Tech Stack
- Node.js
- AWS
- REST APIs / Microservices
- CI/CD and DevOps (deployments, production)
Who this suits
This isn't a big tech, narrowly defined role. It's for someone who:
- Has worked in a startup, scale-up, or small team
- Is used to figuring things out without layers of process
- Enjoys ownership - not just tickets
- Can move fast, but still cares about building things properly
Why it's worth a look
- Proper ownership from day one
- Real product, real customers, real impact
- AI being applied in a meaningful way
- Small, collaborative team - no silos
- Clear growth as the company scales
If you're at that point where you want more ownership, more impact, and to actually build something that's going somewhere - this is a good one to look at. Apply today.
