MCS Group are working with a well-known public sector organisation in Ballymena to recruit a part-time interim HR Advisor to cover maternity leave until May 2027. The role is 15 hours a week over Thursdays and Fridays, with some flexibility required initially for training purposes. You will be a key member of the team, focusing on recruitment and selection, ER cases and supporting the HR strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of HR cases including sickness, discipline, grievance, dignity & respect at work, performance/capability, dismissals, appeals and Employment Tribunals.
  • Providing advice and guidance to senior managers and line managers on HR matters, employment legislation, best practice and terms and conditions.
  • Supporting managers through coaching and development to improve people management practices.
  • Supporting recruitment and selection processes in line with legislation and procedures.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Supporting absence management, employee relations matters and HR projects.
  • Developing effective relationships with Trade Unions and other stakeholders.

Criteria:

  • Degree in any discipline and 2 years experience of providing advice and guidance to HR queries to include employee relations and 2 years of experience with recruitment and selection OR 4 years experience of the above.
  • Associate or chartered membership of CIPD.
  • Full, valid driving licence and access to transport, or if a disability prohibits driving, access to a vehicle that allows you to fulfil the duties of the role.

The role: Temporary until May 2027 to cover job share maternity cover. Hours: 14.8 per week over Thursday and Fridays. Pay rate: £20.29 per hour. Location: Ballymena.
