MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust (NHSCT) to recruit an Interim Assistant Project Manager for a fixed-term assignment through to March 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a major transformational programme, supporting the implementation of a new cloud-based Finance and HR system across a large and complex organisation.

Working within the Programme Management Office, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders, support project governance, manage risks and reporting, and help drive successful programme delivery.

The Role
  • Support the implementation of a large-scale Finance and HR transformation programme.
  • Assist with project planning, governance, reporting, risk and issue management.
  • Monitor project milestones, benefits realisation and performance measures.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Support policy, process and procedural changes arising from system implementation.
  • Assist with budget monitoring, resource planning and project evaluation activities.
  • Contribute to effective project communications and stakeholder engagement.
Essential Criteria

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • A university degree and 2 years' relevant experience, OR
  • An HND (or equivalent) and 3 years' relevant experience, OR
  • 5 years' relevant experience.

Relevant experience must include providing or supporting programmes or projects within a large-scale business environment (minimum 200 staff or annual budget of at least £50 million). In addition, applicants must demonstrate:

  • Strong organisational and people management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience building effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to transport (reasonable adjustments considered where applicable).
