MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with a leading technology organisation as they seek to appoint a Senior Backend Developer to join their engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established software business delivering solutions for a large international client. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of a major finance systems integration project before moving on to support the continued development and enhancement of a wider business‑critical platform.
Working within a small, highly collaborative team, this role offers the opportunity to combine strong technical expertise with regular stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for an engineer who enjoys both hands‑on development and client interaction.
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will join a dedicated development team responsible for delivering backend solutions and integrations across a complex business platform. Your initial focus will be on a major finance project involving the integration of a new Microsoft Dynamics platform with existing back-office systems. Following project delivery, you will continue contributing to the development and enhancement of the wider platform ecosystem.
Responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing backend solutions using C# and .NET technologies
- Building and maintaining Web API integrations between business‑critical systems
- Supporting the integration of Microsoft Dynamics with existing platforms
- Enhancing and maintaining existing back‑office applications
- Working across both modern .NET technologies and legacy systems where required
- Participating in technical design discussions and solution planning
- Collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Acting as a technical point of contact during project delivery
- Contributing to ongoing improvements across development processes and systems architecture
What You Need:
- 4+ years commercial experience developing applications using C# and .NET
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and system integrations
- Knowledge of both modern .NET technologies and traditional Microsoft development environments
- Strong understanding of software development best practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work closely with clients and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics integrations would be advantageous
- Previous exposure to finance systems would be beneficial but is not essential
