MCS Group are looking for an Audit Assistant Manager / Manager to join a long standing accountancy practice in Belfast.

The Company

Our client is a well-established accountancy practice in the Belfast area with multiple offices across Northern Ireland. They provide a range of services from Accounts, Audit, Taxation and Payroll etc. to an array of clients across NI. Now is a great time to join the company as they look to add an Audit Assistant Manager/ Manager to their finance function and continue to grow.

The Role

As the successful Audit Assistant Manager/ Manager you will be reporting to the Senior Manager and will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Manage external audits for a diverse portfolio of clients from planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with auditing and accounting standards.
  • Prepare, review, and audit financial statements, identify audit risks, and resolve technical accounting and audit matters.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact and delivering high quality client service.
  • Supervise, coach, and review the work of junior team members, providing ongoing training and technical support.
  • Deliver audit assignments within agreed budgets and deadlines while maintaining quality standards and collaborating across departments.

The Person

The successful Audit Assistant Manager/ Manager will meet the following criteria:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified accountant, ideally from a mid tier accountancy practice, although strong Big 4 candidates will also be considered.
  • Newly qualified or with 1+ years' post qualified external audit experience, with a proven ability to lead audit assignments from planning through to completion.
  • Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102, UK GAAP and UK auditing standards, with experience preparing and auditing financial statements.
  • Experience supervising junior team members, with excellent communication, client relationship and organisational skills.
  • Ambitious, commercially aware and proactive, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high quality audit work.
