This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy Financial Management team, supporting senior managers and budget holders through the delivery of high-quality financial reporting, budget management and business support services.

This role is ideal for an experienced finance professional who enjoys analysing financial information, supporting strategic decision-making and working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure effective financial management and governance.

The Role:
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial performance reports, identifying budget variances, risks and opportunities.
  • Provide financial advice and business support to budget holders, operational managers and senior stakeholders.
  • Support budget setting, forecasting, financial planning and budgetary control across the organisation.
  • Prepare reconciliations, financial reports and assist with the production of annual accounts.
  • Carry out financial analysis and costing exercises to support service developments and business cases.
  • Ensure financial controls, governance procedures and reporting deadlines are met.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors and contribute to continuous improvement within the Financial Management function.
  • Supervise and support members of the finance team, ensuring workloads are effectively managed and high standards are maintained.
The Person

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Five years' relevant finance experience, including at least two years in a supervisory finance role; OR Part-qualified accountant currently studying towards a recognised CCAB qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or CPA) with a minimum of two years' relevant finance experience.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting and management accounting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency across Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across the organisation.
  • Previous experience supervising or leading staff and managing competing priorities.
