MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with a leading fresh produce business to recruit a National Account Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and highly successful organisation with a turnover exceeding £30 million, supplying high-quality fresh produce to leading retail and foodservice customers across the UK and Ireland. Operating within a fast-paced and commercially driven environment, the business has built an excellent reputation for quality, innovation and customer service. This role will play a key part in driving commercial growth, managing strategic customer relationships and supporting the continued expansion of the business.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of key retail and foodservice customers across the UK and Ireland
  • Act as the primary commercial contact for your customer accounts, delivering an exceptional level of service
  • Drive sales growth while protecting profitability and achieving commercial objectives
  • Build, develop and maintain long-term customer relationships through proactive account management
  • Work closely with Operations, Technical, Finance and NPD teams to deliver customer requirements and commercial objectives
  • Support product development initiatives, pricing negotiations, tenders, forecasting and strategic account planning
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts while developing new commercial opportunities aligned with business objectives
  • Resolve customer challenges professionally, maintaining confidence and strong working relationships
  • Contribute to the company's ongoing growth strategy through effective account management and commercial decision-making

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an Account Manager or National Account Manager position
  • Experience within fresh produce, food manufacturing or the wider FMCG sector
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing pricing, margins and customer negotiations
  • Proven ability to build and maintain successful long-term customer relationships
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple internal departments and influence key stakeholders
  • Calm, organised and solutions-focused approach within a fast-paced commercial environment
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Criteria

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Experience managing major retail or foodservice customer accounts
  • Knowledge of fresh produce supply chains and short shelf-life products
  • Experience supporting new product development and commercial growth initiatives
