Company Accountant
MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with a growing Northern Ireland business as they look to appoint a Company Accountant to join their established finance team in Banbridge.
The Company
Our client is a growing Northern Ireland-based private business with a diverse portfolio of commercial interests and strong links across a wider group of companies. With continued growth across the business, they are now looking to strengthen their finance function with the appointment of a Company Accountant.
This is a newly created position, with a number of the responsibilities previously sitting with the Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role offers an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to take ownership of a broad remit and play a key role within a growing finance function.
The business is open to candidates from a range of backgrounds, with manufacturing experience particularly advantageous. Practice-trained candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
The Rewards
As the successful Company Accountant, you will receive:
- £45,000 - £55,000 salary
- Potential for contract extension beyond the initial 6 months

The Role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Company Accountant will be responsible for:
- Preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts
- Supporting the preparation of budgets, forecasts and financial reporting
- Managing month-end processes and ensuring financial information is accurate and delivered on time
- Supporting the Financial Controller with statutory and year-end reporting requirements
- Producing financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making
- Maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures
The Person
The successful Company Accountant will meet the following criteria:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, although strong QBE candidates will also be considered
- Previous experience within a commercial finance environment
- Manufacturing experience would be highly advantageous
- Practice-trained candidates with relevant experience will also be considered
- Strong technical accounting and management accounts experience
